World Wide Moment
Hello friends,

We want to invite you to be a part of a project that our friend Brett Brownell (aka Benji) has launched. It is a world-wide art project for peace. The idea is to have as many people around the world as possible take a photo at the exact same time. The project is called World Wide Moment and will take place on August 8th 2008 at 08:08 +8 GMT, which means August 8th 2008 at 8:08AM in the Beijing China time zone, or August 7th 2008 at 8:08PM in New York, or August 8th 2008 at 12:08AM in London, and so on. Visit www.worldwidemoment.org to find out the moment in your timezone. Your involvement is as simple as taking a photograph at that exact moment and emailing to him your photo along with your location and a quick story about what was happening at worldwidemoment@gmail.com.
This is a grassroots campaign. It started as an idea and will evolve into a powerful reality. It requires the participation of all of you to make it as great as it has the potential to be. We exist at a unique time in history and this project is a chance to have your voice heard and to have your image and your art be a part of a global statement that says peace is important. Art is important. Each of you are important and this is a chance to contribute your perspective on a moment of time where the power is ours to say something meaningful and beautiful to the world.
Please add worldwidemoment to your friends list on myspace and facebook and invite everyone you know to be a part of this project. Most of all, please participate with your own photo. We love you and appreciate how each of you have the potential to make a difference in the world we live in. Individually we are each powerful, together we can change the world.

Be Art,

Mae

Just so you know....
It hasn't been sunny enough for me lately, and I'm sick of it! To cope with my frustration I'm getting together with my two band mates to write new songs.  We have officially started a creative process which will result in some new songs for all of you to listen to.  It's a relief to be back in this mental mode and it is always a refreshing and welcoming state of being for us.  There is a lot going on in the news these days, the 2008 presidential race, some NBA and NHL play-off action; the threat of food shortages, war, looming recession, ridiculous gas prices, and don't forget global warming (that's right, I said it). Although, on a more promising note, there's a pretty good summer shaping up in relation to tours as well. Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Lollapalooza is happening, Radiohead is on tour, Counting Crows and Stone Temple Pilots will be out on the road, and Tokyo! That's right, our wonderful and helpful friends inTokyo are going to head out on a short east coast/midwest run in June.  Check out their myspace for more details! You can listen to some music, and see when they are coming to your city. Don't miss it.  Also, if you are in the northeast, don't miss MAE in July, we are playing a few dates with the Plain White T's.

Back home
We are finally back home, after a long, fun, rewarding tour. I would like to send a big warm hearted and sincere "Thank you" to all of you who were a part of it, we had a blast. All of the bands got a long swimmingly well, and our van didn't even break down once. I was afraid to mention the superb performance of the van during the tour, for fear that I would surely jinx it's perfect record. But now the tour is over, and the van did a fine job, despite the over-loaded trailer. We definitely had some memorable moments on this tour, and now the summer is starting and we're anxious to get down to business and write some new jams. Oh, by the way, the Habitat for Humanity acoustic performances were amazing, thank you so much for donating your time and money! We will be posting information on shows as soon as they are booked, but we will be focusing mostly on writing.  I want to see if we can get some pictures from the tour posted soon, but I just got home, so lay off and give me some time to myself. As of right now, I'm enjoying Willie Nelson's "Stardust" record, it's very soothing. I love Willie. It's good to be home!

Habitat for Humanity

For this up coming tour we're happy to announce we will be working with Habitat For Humanity.  For a small donation of $5, we will be playing some acoustic songs prior to the show, meeting and greeting, having discussions, taking requests, and having a good time in general, and it's all for a good cause!  So if there are any songs you want to hear from The Everglow, Destination:Beautiful, or Singularity, make sure you come early and hang out with us.  All the money made will be going to Habitat For Humanity.  For more information on the organization, please visit www.habitat.org.

Here is a list of times you should arrive at the front doors of the venue. Someone will be outside to meet you and take your donation.

So if you come to the TLA show, save your ticket and come out to Siren Records the next day.

The other one will be in San Diego on April 10th at the Loserkids store located 711 Center Drive Suite 103 in San Marcos, California. This will play out like our other pre-show acoustic performances that we are doing on this tour, all it takes is a $5 dollar donation. Please come help support this cause.

Back from Australia and ready to go on tour!
Hey everyone, we just arrived home from Australia last night, and I am officially jet lagged. The tour in Australia was amazing and we will be back as soon as we can, but now we have to focus on our next headline tour that starts in a matter of ten days! Make sure you all check out the tour dates, get some friends together, pile into a car and make it out to the shows, they will be a blast.  The set will definitely have some songs that we have not played in a long while, and we can't wait to bring them out of the vault. The other bands on the tour (The Honorary Title, Between The Trees, and Far-Less) are great as well, all worth a night out. We hope to see you there!

Also, if you are from the DC area and have been checking our myspace page for dates, there was a correction made today.  The show was listed on the 17th, but that is wrong, the show is on Tuesday, the 18th.  Sorry for the mix-up.  Also, there is still a poll up on our myspace, go vote! It's in our blog section. Thanks!
